The last three authors who I’ve edited have needed a) an all-new set of summaries written from scratch; b) expanded summaries from a basic sentence for each chapter; or c) summaries edited down from overly-long write-ups. In talking with several agents and editors, we’ve agreed both as to how important these are, of course – and how hard it is for many authors to step back from their own work and write concise yet flowing and intriguing chapter summaries.
Most the ones I’ve seen have too much or too little of what will engage the interest of a busy agent and editor.
I can help. I’m adding a service to my book editing work called Chapter Summary Doctor; I look forward to working with you. After contacting me with details about your book, we can decide what is an appropriate fee. Let’s talk. I’m very reasonable. Please use my Contact Form to reach me.
